IWAKI therefore requires accurate information from the customer about the zone classification for the work area where the pump is to be used. The information from the customer must, among other things, contain information on zone classification, temperature class, explosion group and ambient temperature.
Equipment for use in explosive atmospheres is divided into 3 different categories:
Category 1: Equipment may be used in zones 0, 1 and 2 (gas) + in 20, 21 and 22 (dust).
Category 2: Equipment may be used in zones 1, 2 (gas) + in 21 and 22 (dust).
