Scrubber for chlorine gas
The solution eliminated corrosion problems
A Danish company in the food industry asked IWAKI Nordic A/S for a scrubber to their HCL tank.
The company had a problem with vapors from the tanks that occurred during filling. This caused corrosion problems on the surrounding steel components.
To clean the vent for chlorine gas, the customer therefore wanted a scrubber placed on a roof nearby. Flow rate was set at 15m³/h and pressure ±20mbar (with a pressure loss up to about 3mbar).
The customer was offered a 3,1x3m unit with associated pumps, sensors for flow and cleaning control, and a receiver tank (Ø 0,8m and 0,9m heigh) All associated sensors could be implemented in the customer’s current monitoring system.
Price and quality was well received by the customer and the unit was installed according to the agreed schedule.
IWAKI offers extensive experience with large and small air and chemical scrubbers for cleaning of process air for organic and inorganic compounds.
